Heat and Sand

I’ve never seen so much of sand in my life. I also thought the Indian tropical summer is unbearable. When I looked down from the plane it was just sand in small heaps, hills, and mountains. It could easily shame the sand in our Marina Beach. The weather forecast is very simple – hot during night, hotter in the morning, and hottest in the afternoon. I had to take a shower before jumping into the bed after returning to the apartment anytime of the day. I can easily spot the fancy high-end cars on the road. I can’t name about half of that. I developed a certain liking to Arabic breads and their Hummus salad.

Thamba started with Dubai Mall. Meeting Raj at the entrance of Dubai Mall was a pleasant surprise. Thamba treated me with an exclusive Italian chocolate sponge cake filled with cherries soaked in rum and covered with dark chocolate. It was the usual tourist thing after that. Dinner cruise at Dubai Creek, Dubai Creek Park, Dolphin Show, posing with all the cartoon characters, Desert Safari and belly dance, Ibn Battuta Mall, Mall of Emirates, Jumeirah beach, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Museum, Musical fountain and Burj Al Khalifa…

Highlight of the trip is 42” Samsung that we bought from Mall of Emirates…:) It fits perfectly in our entertainment unit and I could not take my eyes off him ;)
